If you're at a lockout then you can reset it to any kwikset key and then reset it back to the original key once you have access to the original key, but everything remains in working order, so I doubt you could really call this "destructive".

2 Answers. There is a way to fix it. You need to essentially disassemble the lock and line the pins up. Here's a video explaining how: Part 2 of the video is how to disassemble and reassemble your automatic transmission. :-) Having done it once, it's not that hard. It sounds hard, though. After a system reset, all fobs will need to be re-enrolled and calibrated. Press and release the fob’s enroll button. The fob’s LED will begin to blink green. Press and release the Program button. Hold the fob close against the back panel. The fob’s LED will begin to blink faster. When it turns solid green, the fob is successfully enrolled. Rotate the key 90 degrees clockwise. Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole. You may feel the tool click inside the lock. Remove the SmarKey tool. Remove the current key. Insert the new key you wish to use with the lock. Make sure your key is FULLY inserted. The edge of the key touches the indent in the cylinder face. Place the follower at the back of your cylinder plug. Insert the existing key and rotate it 45 degrees. While keeping the follower tool firmly against the rear of the plug, pull the plug out of the housing. The follower fills the void left as the plug is removed and it holds in all of the top components in place.Our 260 smart lock randomly stopped working. There are no beeps at all when you push buttons. We changed the batteries and this didn't help. I tried a reset and a factory reset without it helping. Tried to reset codes, unmute, add additional and nothing.
