Baffle strikes
Aug 7, 2022 · I just saw a can back yesterday for customer service from 2008- early gate lock m4sd (prior to m4sd-2 in 2010). The owner had over-deflected and bent the spring and lost or damaged the gate. Thats a 14 year old can without baffle strikes. It wasn’t worn out- it had zero baffle strikes or grazes. Recently installed a Delta P Design adapter and Surefire 762-211c muzzle brake and got pretty severe baffle strikes just leaving the muzzle. Installed a JP large profile compensator and had the same result. Cycling was a non-issue. Removed the Delta P adapter and installed the original SOCOM muzzle brake and no issues whatsoever. Any ideas?Adding baffles causes air to strike the surfaces and become diverted, further slowing down the air exiting the muzzle, baffles also create some turbulence, and turbulence creates resistance (like a plane flying through turbulent air or cross wind getting knocked around, same would apply to air mass in flight).

I had a nasty baffle strike. I think I loosened the piston cage inside the booster housing or I loosened the baffle body from the booster (or both lol). I was having a hell of a time trying to remove the suppressor from my pistol with EZ-Lok.
