It still holds true for everything I've seen so far with a couple of exceptions. In BG3, spell slots for multi-classed characters now rounds up (instead of down) the half-caster levels. This means that Pal 6/Sorc 6 have the same slots as a Pal 7/Sorc 5. Also, some changes have been made to Storm Sorcerer, so it might be a strong multiclass option.There are many options here, but I would go with at least level 6 paladin to get Aura of Protection.
